Upscale a Bear

Looking for a cute personalized gift? Personalize a stuffed animal. Young and old, stuffed animals provide a great cuddle buddy and a source of comfort. We give several stuffed animals to seniors at Christmas time.

For our "Santa4Seniors" project, it helps the staff keep the bear/stuffed animal with their respective "parent" by having the name added. Plus it gives the resident a sense of identity to have their name on things.

Obviously we don't take the stuffed animals apart in order to embroidery the names. Rather, we make a simple patch using coordinating fabric, and then hand-stitch the patch onto the animal. Check out a video tutorial on You Tube for making embroidery patches.

This is a quick project, about 30 minutes. Cost is minimal with the stuffed animal around $5 on sale and scraps of material and on-hand thread to create the patches.
